At the recent 32nd Korea International Broadcasting Audio and Lighting Exhibition (KOBA 2024) held in COXE Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, Theia T1 and Theia D1, were presented at the booths of NxVi’s Korean agents, showcasing the video encoding and decoding prowess to global audiences and industry experts.

The UHD video product display area showcased the seamless collaboration of the leading NxVi Theia 8K encoder and decoder series, delivering an unparalleled visual experience. The images captured by the IOI 8KSDI camera were encoded and streamed by Theia T1, and then decoded into 8K video by Theia D1 to an 8K TV, showcasing excellent picture quality in real time on site.  The real-time demonstration setup on-site also allowed visitors to experience the ultimate sensation brought by ultra-low latency. This product series achieve real-time 8Kp60 UHD encoding and decoding through secure, reliable, and groundbreaking transmission (SRT) technology and can also be compatible with domestic and foreign mainstream camera brands.

Theia T1 supports a comprehensive UHD experience, from acquisition to production and from transmission to display. Theia T1 encoder supports 1ch 8K or 4ch 4K/1080 HEVC, or 1ch 1080p60/i60 AVC video encoding transmission through 12G-SDI input or HDMI 2.1 interface, with 4:2:0/4:2:2 chroma sampling and 10-bit HDR10/HLG HEVC encoding up to 60 frames per second.

Theia D1 can pair with Theia T1 in various large-scale live broadcast events, is capable of decoding and playing up to 8Kp60 or 4Kp120 HEVC 10-bit 4:2:0 video content. The video content can be streamed through Gigabit Ethernet or external USB storage device and be displayed through HDMI 2.1 output port. The MP4/MKV/MOV formatted content can also be played back. The incoming audio channels will be mapped into 7.1ch at maximum. The built-in player supports stop/forward/backward/pause/play feature for local content playback.
